Virtus.pro eliminate NIP from cs

The CIS team continued their hot streak and haven't lost a single map in the tournament yet.

Virtus.pro are through the semi-final stage of cs_summit 7 following a 2-0 win over Ninjas in Pyjamas. The CIS team had already defeated the Swedes earlier in the tournament, and they were able to record a repeat victory, this time on different maps, with Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali and Alexey "⁠Qikert⁠" Golubev putting up strong individual performances.

Even though Ninjas in Pyjamas won the first pistol round of Mirage, it was Virtus.pro who dictated the rhythm of the half. Jame barely missed any shots and topped the scoreboard with 16 kills and only three deaths in the first half, helping his team to secure a 10-5 lead. The CIS team quickly put the Swedes on the ropes as they reached map point at 15-8, though it would take them five rounds to close the game as Ninjas in Pyjamas attempted a late comeback.

Jame had a stellar performance on Mirage

The series proceeded to Dust2, where Ninjas in Pyjamas found themselves 6-3 down despite winning the pistol round and the anti-eco as they gave Virtus.pro too much room on the A site. The Swedes tightened up in time to win five in a row and win the half by a minimal margin.

Virtus.pro rapidly took the lead once they were on the CT side, though. They held Ninjas in Pyjamas's players back with a double-AWP setup, eventually hitting map point at 15-10. Just like on Mirage, the Swedes still showed some signs of life, but just when overtime seemed inevitable, Qikert pulled off an astonishing triple-kill with the M4A4 to take Virtus.pro across the finishing line.
